$2,500,000 was granted to Harris County towards the renovation and reconstruction of the Riverside Hospital Project in Houston’s Third Ward neighborhood. Medical facilities in the Third Ward were damaged during Hurricane Harvey, reducing healthcare services and support to the area. The newly-named Riverside Center will bring much needed medical care, substance abuse support and many other physical and mental health-related services to the area, which has been significantly underserved since the storm.
Status: Demolition began October 1, 2018. Renovation of the three historic buildings is currently in the design phase. Construction is scheduled to begin in 2024.
100% of funds have been disbursed
“Not only are you giving a gift that helps our area recover from Harvey, you’re giving a gift that’s going to serve generations and generations to come.”
